He decided at eleven.
Swami Omji has taught yoga since 2006. He teaches every class at the school himself, in English, Hindi and Hebrew.
Omji first did yoga at a school yoga camp when he was 11. He raised his hand and asked how to become a yoga teacher, and decided that day.
In college people called him "Yogiji". He studied music and the sitar, did a Vipassana course, then took a three-and-a-half-year bachelor's degree in yoga science in Bangalore.
He has taught since 2006. In 2008 he was employed at a private yoga studio in McLeod Ganj, and from 2009 to 2011 he taught yoga to a German community in Pondicherry. Then he came back to Dharamshala and started Bhagsu Yoga Institute, which became official in 2015.
Omji is registered with Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT 500 (since March 2014) and as a Continuing Education Provider, YACEP (since 2017). See his teacher profile, his YACEP profile and the school profile.
